My father, a WWII veteran, had never been to Washington DC. He served in the Navy on Guam. He passed away recently, after we had the best time ever, thanks to the St. Louis Honor Flight. We had a glorious day visiting the WWII Memorial and other of our Country’s spectacular monuments. He loved that day, a day I will always remember dearly. Although not a wilderness outdoor adventure, it rivals any such time together, which, for Father’s Day, is exactly the point.
