My dad passed away from brain cancer in May 2021. In April 2020 we were able to go on one last fishing trip to our home waters of the Indian River in Florida. Neither of us wanted to say it would be our last time fishing together, but we both knew. We fished many of the spots where my dad taught me how to fish. It was great being able to reminisce on all the fishing trips we went on together. The cherry on top was getting this, our biggest red ever, in the spot where my dad first took me flats fishing. Every time I look at this photo it reminds me of the love we both share for fishing. I know my dad is still with me in every cast and every tug on the line.
