First Sockeye Salmon

At 78 years old my parents made their first trip to Alaksa to visit us. Dad brought his fiberglass fly rod, reel and original fly-line that was older than me in hopes he would either catch a big fish or break the thing fighting one. Well, neither his spirit or fly rod broke and he managed to catch 3 of the 5 pacific salmon species during his visit. He even raised the head of a huge chinook with a wet fly as old as the rod which rightfully gave us the ‘one that got away’ story. Love you, Dad!
