My Dad and I always go on a new adventure for my birthday every year. Typically we scuba dive in some remote and tropical destination. In the height of Covid, this all changed. We had to be creative, think more locally and still do something active and enjoyable. Fly fishing is something my Dad does every year, but him and I hadn’t done it together in many years. It was amazing how we easily navigated the river together as if no time had passed at all. The fish came easily to me, the much more novice fisher. Together we drifted, took in the beauty of Montana and caught and released trout for hours. Sometimes the best things are said silently while drifting down a Montana river.
