From earliest memory, our father has led us on countless outdoor adventures – many along the beautiful coast of North Carolina. I snapped this photo of Dad and my brother out in the kayak – fishing and enjoying the afternoon together. “Papa Bear”, as he is known, has taught his children, grandchildren, and a host of friends to fish, sail, swim, ski, and the list goes on! Because of him, we know of the nesting habits of sea turtles, the migration patterns of purple martins, and can identify constellations in the night sky. He has instilled in all of our family an appreciation and enjoyment of nature.
