Joy
In a word, my dad is passionate. And in three, passionate about fish! He will outcast anyone on the river, and have the trout to show for it. Rain, snow, sleet mean nothing to him long as he has the river and a possibility for a fish on the end of his line! On this trip in particular, he made it a point that “the fish are already wet; why would they care if it’s raining out?” and proceeded to land several nice rainbows while I was waiting it out from the safety of the truck cab! Despite the sleet, the rain, and anything else that threatened to soak the man to his core, he never looked happier. The pure joy on his face said it all – he is happiest here! On the river, lead by streamers and dry flies, in the company of trout.
