Our family climbed Kilimanjaro. The stimulus was a midlife crisis that my wife surrendered to and the rest of us fell victim to. It was fun and very challenging. It is a really big hill and if you want to reach the top, you should prepare and bring your best stuff. Dr. Bronner’s soap, hydration and Diamox are keys to success. Young men have the worst success record, likely based on climbing too fast. My wife and I , and our four boys and our lovely daughter in law all made it. As the Tanzanians’s say, the formula for success is Pole,Pole. Move slowly, slowly. And you will reach Uhuru Peak. Which we all did and formed memories that are indelible. What a lovely planet. And what a lovely crowd to share it with.
