My dad took me dove hunting at a very young age. He never needed bird dogs to retrieve, that was my job. As I became older, he taught me how to shoot, clean, and cook the birds. Year after year, I kept going back to Redbone Hunting Preserve with him. Years later, he helped my now husband plan a proposal on the preserve. We joke with my husband how brave he was to propose while Dad was holding a shotgun.
