Scott MacGregor Ackleson (grandfather) and Jason MacGregor Ackleson (father)

Three generations of fly fishermen

My father, Jason, and grandfather, Scott, began teaching me to fly fish for rainbow and brown trout in the mountains of northern New Mexico when I was just four years old. Every summer since then (usually as close to Father’s Day as we can) the three of us have enjoyed trekking deep into the back country of the Carson National Forest, NM, to fish together on our favorite stream for native brook trout. We have nicknamed the stream “Scott’s Creek” in honor of my grandfather, and the memories we have made there together – and our bond as fly fishermen – will last a life time!
