My first fishing trip as a kid was on Chautauqua Lake in a little tin boat my Dad rented for the day. Now the weather that day was less than favorable, it was horrible and my Dad had very little experience, but he was determined to take me fishing and made the best of the situation. He did his best not to seem panicked by the weather and his calmness really made the difference that day. Thankfully this experience didn’t impact our love for fishing and I am happy to say we have had many fishing trips together since on Great Lake Erie. My Dad is my best friend and I’m grateful to still have him fishing with me today.
