Father’s Day Fishing

When I was about 10 years old, my dad took me fly fishing for the first time in Spruce Creek, PA. We had met a gentleman in the parking lot that told me he had the magic fly I could use, and it would be my good luck charm. While I didn’t use that fly, I caught the biggest rainbow trout, and I was hooked. I remember my dad helped me land him. Ever since, he and I would go down to Spruce Creek to go fishing. When I met my husband, my dad taught him how to fly fish and got him hooked as well. Now we spend every Father’s Day fishing together. That’s where this picture was taken. We have a daughter now, and I know my husband is itching to help her with her first cast (for now she is just strapped to our chests on the water!). I can’t wait to have her a memorable adventure with my husband like I did with my dad.
